IBM students won more awards from the 2007 International Entrepreneurship Competition in Foreign Language and Digital Content Industries Project Competition in Taiwan and the 4th CIMS International Marketing Competition 2007 in Singapore
Three senior IBM - International Marketing Concentration students competed in the 2007 International Entrepreneurship Competition in Foreign Language and Digital Content Industries Project Competition during 15 - 19 October 2007 organized and hosted by Wenzao Ursuline College of Languages in Kaoshiung, Taiwan. Our team, BAT Company, proposed a digital language innovation business plan for their coined inscant.com precision digital product locator for serving manufacturers, retailers, and consumers in the U.S. market. They had been working tirelessly since July 2007.
The competition was open to 59 universities from all over the world, of which 14 attended the final round for presentations before a panel of four judges and the public. While our team received 2nd runner up recognition, 1st place was awarded to a team from Beijing, China, 1st runner up to a team from Northumbria, UK, and the Creativity Award to a team from South Korea.

A team of four AU undergraduate business students took on the challenge to enter and compete in the 4th CIMS (Chartered Institute of Management Singapore) International Marketing Competition 2007 on 27 October 2007 at the Fuji Xerox Tower in Singapore. Our AU team, Advanced Technology Company (ATC) Ltd., developed a comprehensive marketing plan for the Eagle Eye Radio Broadcast Encoder. The plan was based on an actual proprietary innovation that was developed by an AU alumnus technopreneur. The innovation is currently undergoing patent consideration in Thailand. Our ATC team helped the entrepreneur by developing an attractive 'go-to-market' strategy for launching the technology in Thailand and to eventually enter South Korea. The team had been working diligently on the marketing plan since August 2007, submitted it on 11 September, and was informed of being shorlisted on 3 October.
The CIMS competition was open to universities throughout Asia. Nine Singapore institutions and three of the six 'international' submissions were shortlisted for the final presentations. Our team received 2nd runner up with the 1st place award in the international category going to a team of graduate students from Malaysia.
